His understanding was that such a law could unify the people against "parasites" living on minimal welfare and thereby unofficially help the declining economy of the country. Ultimately and fortunately this sparked a chorus of outrage in the civil population. After thousands protested it the decree was suspended in March 2017 and abolished in January 2018. The ideas behind this law remain not only in the heads of belorussian officials, but in a lot of regressive western politicians though. We wont't have it. We will fight such repression tooth & nail.

While giving away his post as president he got a new job as "Chairman of the Security Council of Kazakhstan" which is just a fancy title and means: He's still the de-facto leader. Vladimir Putin is trying to pull a similar maneuver in the near future. Just wait for it. We wrote the song to comment on the idiocy to support narcissistic, megalomaniacal strongmen. Kazakhstan renamed the capital after their "former" leader... nuts. Just..nuts.

So two of the best current screamo / hardcore bands from europe came together for a split? Damn, it’s already such a great year for the underground diy scene.

Кальк (ex members of Mørder and Chuck Bass) are an emoviolence/screamo/synth punk band hailing from kiel/germany – their first record in 2017 was already a high-praised one and these two new songs are another example of how ridiculously good this band is.

On the other side of the split we got the swedish sweethearts from Barabbas, du förtappade. A++ Screamo/Emoviolence – abrasive, dark, sad, aggressive – just like you expect the perfect screamo songs. “Not Only Will This Kill You but it Will Hurt the Whole Time You’re Dying” – daaamn.

The Кальк songs were produced by Alex Sickel at Tiny Pond Studio, Hannover and the Barabbas ones were produced and mastered by André Ampuero Redaelli in Stockholm. Mixed & mastered was the whole thing by the legend themself Jack Shirley at The Atomic Garden.
